Foreign Body
Foreign Body is the beautifully crafted debut solo show by Imogen Butler-Cole about hope, healing and forgiveness after sexual assault. Told from a unique and challenging perspective, using a charged combination of verbatim and physical theatre, Foreign Body is a brave, liberating and life-affirming story.
The development of Foreign Body has been supported by Arts Council England, Rich Mix and the Pleasance London.
The show, performed by Imogen Butler-Cole (Shakespeares Globe, BBC, RADA) sees movement direction from Niamh Mckernan (The SchauspielHaus Hannover, The Brillig Ensemble, Barbican Collaborate), an original score from Tara Franks and Filipe Sousa (Vortex, Union Chapel, Wiltons, Southbank) and design by award-winning Ana Ines Jabares-Pita (National Theatre of Scotland, Young Vic, Royal Court).
Foreign Body aims to destigmatise dialogue around sexual violence and will offer opportunities for audience members to explore the plays themes through post show Q&As.
