Nonprofit Law Institute's "Serving Nonprofits From The Inside and Out"
Join us for the first annual Nonprofit Law Institute event for attorneys who want to learn about serving nonprofits, learn from leaders from the nonprofit legal field, and share your interests and experiences in working with community organizations.
This CLE will also be available online as a live webinar. If you can't join us in-person in Seattle, you can join us from your desk at your computer. If you are joining us by webinar, please indicate that you are joining us for the Webinar in the registration process, so we can send you the webinar information.
This half-day CLE (4 CLE credits, approval pending), 1- 5:30 pm, will include:
1. So You Want To Be A Board Member - Speakers Judy Andrews, Apex Law Group and Holly Vance, The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation will talk about the roles and responsibilities of attorneys being board members.
2. Serving Public Charities - Registration & Compliance -- Speakers Lisa Schaures, Schwabe Williamson & Wyatt, Tsering Cornell, Washington Secretary of State's Office, and Leilani Fischer, Washington Attorney General's Office will talk about hot topics on registration and compliance of public charities.
3. Serving Private Foundations -_ Speakers Lorri Dunmore, Perkins Coie and David Lawson, Davis Wright Tremaine will talk about hot topics on private foundation compliance.
4. Projecting U.S. Good Works Abroad and the Attorneys Who Make It Happen -- This is a panel discussion with Connie Collingsworth, The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation; Dan Lister, PATH; ; Jeremiah Centrella, Mercy Corp, moderated by Bernel Goldberg, Seattle Symphony. General Counsels from leading nonprofit organizations will discuss their experiences in addressing the legal issues surrounding global relief efforts.
Happy Hour 5:30 - 6:30 pm Join us for a happy hour after the CLE portion to meet and enjoy your colleagues working in and for the nonprofit sector.
