2016 Phoenix Film Festival Fall Showcase - Showcase Pass
TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE AT THE DOOR

Join us for the 2016 Phoenix Film Festival Fall Showcase. It's a great way to get an early look at some potential Oscar nominees and even a few dark horses. We'll screen four films over four nights with post-film discussions hosted by members of the Phoenix Critics Circle.

You can purchase single tickets or get the Showcase Pass which allows you to see four films for the price of three.

11/14 - Jackie

Starring: Natalie Portman, Peter Sarsgaard, Greta Gerwig, John Hurt and Billy Crudup
Director: Pablo LarraĆn

Synopsis: JACKIE is a searing and intimate portrait of one of the most important and tragic moments in American history, seen through the eyes of the iconic First Lady, then Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy (Natalie Portman).  JACKIE places us in her world during the days immediately following her husband's assassination.  Known for her extraordinary dignity and poise, here we see a psychological portrait of the First Lady as she struggles to maintain her husbands legacy and the world of "Camelot" that they created and loved so well.

11/15 - I, Daniel Blake

I, Daniel Blake

Starring: Dave Johns and Hayley Squires
Director: Ken Loach

Synopsis:  Winner of the Palme dOr at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival, the latest from legendary director Ken Loach is a gripping, human tale about the impact one man can make. Gruff but goodhearted, Daniel Blake (Dave Johns) is a man out of time: a widowed woodworker whos never owned a computer, he lives according to his own common sense moral code. But after a heart attack leaves him unable to work and the state welfare system fails him, the stubbornly self-reliant Daniel must stand up and fight for his dignity, leading a one-man crusade for compassion that will transform the lives of a struggling single mother (Hayley Squires) and her two children. Graced with humor and heart, I, Daniel Blake is a moving, much-needed reminder of the power of empathy from one of the worlds greatest living filmmakers.

11/16 - The Edge of Seventeen

Starring: Hailee Steinfeld, Haley Lu Richardson, Woody Harrelson, Blake Jenner, Katie Stuart and Kyra Sedgwick.
Director: Kelly Fremon

Synopsis:  Everyone knows that growing up is hard, and life is no easier for high school junior Nadine, who is already at peak awkwardness when her all-star older brother Darian starts dating her best friend Krista. All at once, Nadine feels more alone than ever, until the unexpected friendship of a thoughtful boy gives her a glimmer of hope that things just might not be so terrible after all.

11/17 - Miss Sloane

Starring: Jessica Chastain, Mark Strong, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Michael Stuhlbarg, Alison Pill, Jake Lacy, Sam Waterston and John Lithgow
Director: John Madden

Synopsis: In the high-stakes world of political power-brokers, Elizabeth Sloane is the most sought after and formidable lobbyist in D.C. Known equally for her cunning and her track record of success, she has always done whatever is required to win. But when she takes on the most powerful opponent of her career, she finds that winning may come at too high a price.
