Mickelson With Special Guests: Nick Foltz & Nathan Earle
About Mickelson

Through a career that spanned five full-length releases with his band Fat Opie, a struggle with a long-term illness and a career as a fine artist and author, Scott Mickelson has persevered. Now, with his debut solo release Mickelson Flickering, he delivers his most critically acclaimed work. This record was on the 2015 Grammy Ballot in two categories (Best Folk Album, Best Roots Music Performance).

Appearances and press include NPR Radio, Jimmy Lloyd Show (NBC), Huffington Post, CBS Morning Show, Alternative Press Magazine, Glide Magazine and a Folk Alliance Showcase. Other accolades include winning a national band search hosted by MTV/7-Up that included $15,000. His song Mouth Like A Trucker was included the feature film Along The Way. When not touring, he produces artists from his Bay Area studio.

Mickelson has opened for acts that include Dr. John, Grammy winner - Jim Lauderdale, Grammy nominated - Peter Case, Smashmouth, Grammy winner - Rob Hotchkiss (Train), Griffin House, Box Set, Jonathan Richman, Dick Dale.

Mickelson sings with aching urgency, cloaked in a dark fog that keeps his melodies balancing on the edge of unresolved, underscoring his take that life is never an all-easy road. His work is smart, moving and never overdone. - MusicNewsNashville Beautiful, heartbreaking, triumphant, intense  a panoramic of the human condition  Mickelsons debut album pulls out all the stops and demands to be heard. - MusicWorthReviewing

About Nick Foltz

Nick Foltz is the singer/songwriter for Portland band Lowlight. Their first show together was the release show for the album "After Sundown" at the venerable SE Portland music sanctuary known as The Barn. Since then they have enjoyed a warm reception throughout Portland and the Pacific Northwest .Their sound is loose. It swings and stumbles and is built around the idea that the groove and the lyrics should both drive the song.

About Nathan Earle

A son of the Flint Hills of Eastern Kansas, Nathan Earle has now made a home in the Pacific Northwest for over a decade. Earle's ties to Midwestern folk and gospel traditions are interwoven with the soulful and verdant hues of the Northwest. His impassioned vocal delivery and introspective story-telling can break into the most well-guarded hearts without setting off the alarms.
