The increasing focus on making contemporary homes of today become more efficient, safe, and adaptable to the needs and welfare of its occupants has become more and more imperative. Understanding these needs underscores the imperativeness of redefining todays interiors by using innovative interior sliding doors and partitions that address these needs. This course shall present various types of sliding doors and partitions that could provide architects, designers and builders solutions to issues such as egress, floor tracks, handles, latches, and pulls while at the same time presenting design and aesthetic options for interiors.
Learning Objectives:
Participants in this course will be able to identify in detail standard and specialized sliding door and room partition component parts in relation to ease of installation and ADA functionalities.
Participants in this course will be able to discuss how uniquely engineered designs of door components impact ADA functionalities of interior sliding doors and partitions.
Participants in this course will be able to provide solutions and recommendations for ADA compliance-related issues such as egress, presence of floor tracks, ease of opening and closing sliding doors, which are prevalent in multi-family, mixed-use and residential environments.
Participants in this course will be able to provide examples of various room applications where ADA compatible and ADA compliant sliding doors and partitions may be used.
