Loving La Muerte: Morbid Anatomy Day of the Dead Party

Tonight, join Mexican-American filmmaker and DJ Eva Aridjis, director of La Santa Muerte (Saint Death) for a night devoted to death in Mexico in honor of Day of the Dead! The night will include an illustrated lecture by Aridjis about the relationship to death in ancient and contemporary Mexico, followed by a gothic dance party featuring songs about death (including some from Mexico). Other offerings will include face painting by Jane Rose, margaritas, and a costume contest (theme: Day of the Dead meets Goth)!
Eva Aridjis grew up in Mexico City and got her MFA in Film and TV from New York University. She is the director and producer of five feature-length films, including La Santa Muerte (Saint Death) and the narrative films The Favor and The Blue Eyes and the documentaries Children of the Street, Saint Death and Chuy, The Wolf Man. Her films have screened at festivals around the world including Sundance, Edinburgh and the LA Film Festival. She has also directed several short films and music videos and taught Screenwriting at NYU.
