Their specialty - creating an atmosphere both inviting and challenging, bringing the audience into their world through songs, stories, and friendly sibling-like bickering.
Pesky J Nixon music is authentic, drawing influences from contemporary urban balladeers, rowdy southern bluegrass, and the sardonic yet wry wit of New England's localized folk scenes. Compelling harmonies and narratives rein in disparate instrumentation including- zydeco style accordion, virtuosic mandolin, a variety of tribal percussion, and a myriad of string instrumentation.

Guests attending Simple Gifts Coffee House performances are invited to bring their own beer or wine to enjoy at the concerts. Coffee, tea, and a variety of baked goods are available at each show.
Simple Gifts Coffee House is a non-profit volunteer run concert venue hosting regional and nationally known musical acts for over 25 years. They are long time members of the Boston Area Coffee House Association (BACHA).
