Jazz at the Chimes - Trio Garufa
Trio Garufa will present their uinique style of high energy, rhythmic, and virtuosic Argentine Tango at this Jazz at the Chimes concert. The trio will perform masterworks by Astor Piazzolla, as well as their own arrangements of classic Tangos from the Golden Era (1930's-1950's). Trio Garufa will also perform selections of folk music from the countryside of Argentina, including beautiful rhythms such as: Chacarera, Zamba, and Guarania. For their finale, they will perform the classic song that ends most Tango shows around the world every single night, La Cumparsita, written by Gerardo Matos RodrÃguez in Uruguay in 1916.
This concert is part of the Jazz at the Chimes series held at the stunning Julia Morgan Chapel of the Chimes, an historical landmark building. This intimate space seats about 160 in linear pews.
Tickets may also be available at the door (cash only), based on availability. On site box office opens at 12:30.
