Where Everything Is Music: gems from the Persian tradition
ONLINE SALES ARE NOW CLOSED, BUT TICKETS ARE STILL AVAILABLE AT THE DOOR
Join us for the final concert of our 2016/17 season, an evening of beautiful music from the Persian tradition, featuring: Amir Etemadzadeh, percussion; Behzad Kiasat, garmon; Aydin Kiasat, kamanche; Claire Mackenzie, vocals; Nima Hafezieh, piano; along with the collaboration of Mehr percussion ensemble and guest vocalist Anita Rameshk. The program will present Persian music from folk to traditional, taking the audience on a journey from music heard today in the biggest concert halls of Iran to what would be heard in the streets of the oldest villages. This extraordinary glimpse into the rich and complex music of the Persian tradition will be an opportunity to bridge cultures and communities, bringing us all a little closer together.
100% of profits from your ticket purchase will go directly to Pars Equality Center, a community-based social and legal services organization (www.parsequalitycenter.org). Their mission is to act as a catalyst for the social, cultural and economic integration of Iranian-Americans, and other Persian speaking communities, into mainstream American society. Pars Equality Center achieves its mission primarily by providing extensive social and legal services. The Persian-speaking staff advocates for families and individuals in need, with a strong focus on refugees, asylum seekers, and those newcomers living in poverty.
