Peter Mulvey at Music in the Gallery Concerts
The cream of the crop sings with a clarity reserved for the likes of legends. Davis Enterprise
Urban art-folksier Peter Mulvey has lived an artist's life since adolescence. Starting his musical career in Milwaukee while at Marquette University where he was a theater major. He honed his performing skills while traveling and busking in Dublin, Ireland. He founded the Milwaukee band Big Sky, all before his early twenties. But his professional music career didn't really begin until 1991, when was fired from a job at a Kinko's Copiers in Boston. Flat broke and in need of immediate cash to entertain his visiting brother, Mulvey starting playing his guitar in the subway. He supported himself that way for a couple of years, working ten-hour days in the smog-drenched underground.
Now based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He has developed a strong national following in the indie folk/rock scene through his relentless touring and critically acclaimed albums.
