OVVLS w/ Noelle Picara and Lovebettie
OVVLS
Residing in the outskirts of the Liverpool, England, OVVLS (pronounced Owls) are an experimental duo captivated by unearthing beauty in the darkest of places. Drawing inspiration from the natural world, their enchanting lyrics, bellowing vocals and hypnotic rhythms act as lullabies for even the most restless of souls. New single 'Winter' out now.
Noelle Picara
Hard Rock Piano. Tori Amos and Amanda Palmer in a horror movie. Out of the ash/ I rise with my red hair / and eat men like air. Music for thinking, feeling creatures who want to stare in the face the things that make most people look away: for button pushers, lovers of mythology, feminists, humanists, and seekers of light in the darkness.
Noelle Picara is a rock pianist, singer/songwriter, and CSA survivor from Wilmington, Delaware. She performs locally at venues such as WXPNs World Cafe Live, The Legendary Dobbs, the Chris White Gallery, Film Brothers Co-Op, and at events such as the Ladybug Festival, Millennium Music Conference, LAUNCH Music Conference and Cape Mays Singer-Songwriter conference. She is currently promoting her new album, My Own Frankenstein, recorded at Seventh Wave Studios, featuring Brian Viglione on drums (Dresden Dolls, Violent Femmes). In 2014 she performed Tori Amos entire Little Earthquakes album as a benefit concert for SOAR (survivors of abuse in recovery).
Lovebettie
Recently named Rolling Stones Band to Watch and selected in the top 3 to perform at The 2014 Grammys, Lovebetties rock-pop neo-soul hybrid (deemed Swagger Rock) has landed the band an onslaught of media exposure, radio circulation, and a resounding buzz within the music industry.
Relentlessly touring throughout the United States, Lovebetties persistent drive and tireless work ethic has evolved the band from a local favorite to a national success story. They have shared bills with multitudes of national acts including: Lifehouse, Hinder, 311, Carly Rae Jepsen, The Joy Formidable, Fuel, Hanson, Rick Springfield, Imagine Dragons, and many more. In 2010 Lovebettie performed The Official Lady Gaga Afterparty for her Monsters Ball Tour, and were personally selected by Jon Bon Jovi as one of three bands to contend for a tour opening spot. In 2013, Lovebettie released their brand new CD, RISE, to critical acclaim and via an overwhelmingly successful crowd source funding campaign. They took the new music on the road with hundreds of shows including The Work Hard, Play Harder Tour to support the new CD. Lovebettie quickly became more of an event band and a majority of performances became large festivals, casinos, colleges, sporting events, and the top venues throughout the United States (ie. Rams Head Live, World Café Live, Warped Tour 2013, Bottle & Cork w/ Rusted Root, and a returning direct support main stage slot for Rick Springfield at Summerfest). In this time, Lovebettie began conversations and showcases with several major labels and were named a band to watch by Rolling Stone.
