The Battle Not Begun: Munich, 1938
Black Box Lab at Stage 284's Artistic Director, Myriam Cyr, directs this revised, honed and edited second Staged Reading of a new play by Jack Beatty. It is gripping drama, combining theatrical elements that surprise expectations. Elucidating the mystery of what really happened in the three meetings in September 1938 between British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain and Adolf Hitler. With an extraordinary command of language, the author probes themes that are eerily prescient to today's world.
Starring 3-time Tony nominee and American Theater Hall of Fame inductee , Brian Murray as Chamberlain and multi-IRNE and Norton award-winning local Boston actor, Jeremiah Kissel as Hitler.
One performance only, followed by a Talkback with the author, Jack Beatty.
"Thought-provoking and often mordantly ironic" - The New Yorker "Beatty has a great eye for the vivid details that reveal character" - The Associated Press
