This Fall - housed in a 125 year old former Pioneer Square hotel - Cafe Nordo will release the dark history hidden in the walls of its Culinarium with their chilling ninth original theatrical dining experience HOTEL NORDO. Each plate of surrealist cuisine is paired with an episode of this Hotel's history, beginning with a 1927 wedding that ended in tragedy. Tripping through the decades from the twenties through the present day, Hotel Nordo tells four haunting tales of memories, death, loss, and regret. Audiences are encouraged to don their drop-waist dresses, spats, and boas and raise a toast at the ill-fated wedding that whets the Hotels appetite for human suffering.
A lineup of top tier Seattle actors including Ray Tagavilla, Richard Nguyen Sloniker, Alyssa Keene, Opal Peachey, Evan Mosher, Ronnie Hill, Heather Refvem and Corinne Magin bring Nordo co-Founder Terry Podgorski's script to life along with an original score composed and performed by Annastasia Workman.
Chef & Director Erin Brindley's menu weaves the tales together as the audience hurtles to the thrillers inevitable conclusion. The evening will include 4 courses of locally sourced, surrealist cuisine, with an optional upgrade to a VIP wine flight.
Since 2009, Café Nordo has created immersive, dining theatrical experiences garnering critical praise and in 2015 a permanent venue in Seattles Historic Pioneer Square. Relying on relationships with local farmers, ranchers, fisherman, composers, actors, and visual artists, Café Nordo serves up modern cuisine while thrilling audiences with the history, myth, science, and politics of food.
