Red Rover
Red Rover Theatre Company presents the West Coast premiere of "Red Rover," a two-act comedy/drama by John C. Davenport. Set in the suburbs in 1983, 30-year-old Dennis is selling a car he's had since high school. He invites three friends for one last night of cruising around. Dennis is friends with each of the others individually, but the four were never a group, so this is something they've never done before. But Dennis figures they're all adults, so they can overcome any past animosities. And of course, they can't. The play covers one night as they hit three of their old haunts in Dennis' decaying convertible.
John C. Davenport is a career journalist and former stand-up comic who veered into playwriting, which he usually does while seated. His plays have been produced in 22 states, Canada and Panama. He is a member of the Dramatists Guild of America and Seattle Playwrights Circle.
