Bio-Dynamic Breath Work Workshop
3 hour Bio-Dynamic Breath Work Workshop Sunday 18th September 2016, 6-9pm. £40 per person
Throughout life, as a result of difficult circumstances and situations we construct layers of physical, emotional and mental resistance, which can result in postural imbalance, tension and pain in the body, depression, anxiety, unhealthy emotional patterns and many other symptoms. Bio-dynamic Breath work is designed to free these layers of resistance and holding patterns by giving the body and mind the opportunity to surrender, expand and release in a safe and confidential space. This space allows a deep opening within which participants true growth and healing potential can manifest and enables the development of a direct mind-body-spirit connection. This connection can allow participants to experience the full range of sensations and emotions available to a human being, whilst expanding their capacity to support and contain the free flow of healing life-force energy.
Some of the many benefits of a breath work session include:
- Inner peace and calm - Increased energy levels - Improved concentration - Letting go of old patterns and ways of being - Opening up to new possibilities - Having a deeper connection to self - Reduced stress, anxiety & depression - Developing a sense of well being - Resolving the impact of past trauma - A new feeling of confidence and empowerment - Improved communication skills - Breaking addiction - Increased creativity - Opening up a new capacity for meditation - An open heart - Bringing a feeling of joy into life - Being able to make positive changes in your life
A breath work session benefits the Respiratory, Immune, Circulatory, Nervous, Digestive, Urinary, Muscular and Structural bodily systems.
This will be a 3 hour Bio-Dynamic Breath Work experience, lead by Christian, Zena and Peter. The evening will consist of an introduction and demonstration of the technique, conscious movement exercises and a 1 hour journey into your
sacred self using deep connected breathing as the vehicle. This will open up the full energetic flow through the spine and release long held tension from the nervous system. The breath work will be followed by a short meditation to help
integrate what happened in the session. The deepest insights come to us while the mind is quiet and we connect to our true essence, which is still and silent. Meditation also gives the nervous system a chance to calm down and rest. It is
especially necessary after an intense breath work session. After a breath work session it's really good to get back into yourself with some grounding food. Taste buds become wide awake, and it's great to really appreciate the flavours and feed your body with nutritious food, so we will be
providing a plant-based organic meal for everyone to enjoy at the end of the session.
This Bio-Dynamic Breath Work session will be based on the gentle body therapy of Wilhelm Reich, and the compelling approach of Ida Rolf and Janet Travel. The healing modality of Peter Levine, the Bio-Energetics of Alexander Lowen, Richard
Gordon's Quantum Touch and Giten Tonkov's Bio-Dynamic Breath & Trauma Release system.
This workshop is not suitable to anyone under the age of 18. No previous experience is necessary, but health conditions must be disclosed as an entry requirement.
The Bio-Dynamic Breath Work Practitioners for this event will be:
CHRISTIAN PLATTS: I am a trained sports therapist, myofascial release practitioner, medical acupuncturist, cranio sacral therapist, emotional intelligence coach, kinesiologist and incorporate quantum touch and reiki energy work. I have been in clinical practice since 2001. In 2006 I developed and taught the UK's first accredited course in Myofascial Release. Since then I have taught the technique principals to over a thousand students with the underpinning goal to realign the body back in line with our central line of gravity. In 2007 I trained as an emotional intelligence coach, and there after began to study the constructs and mapping of the body mind connection. In 2010 I ventured to New York to train with Ian Ellington in tantra and breath work. I have since been delivering a honed and integrative breath work journey experience; injecting elements from all my teachings. I love assisting both students and clients on their transformational journeys, and more recently stepping into the group work has uncovered an exciting layer of understanding. I practice ashtanga, tantra, and meditation and have always had a strong desire to explore and expose the inner workings of my mind through a blend of scientific, esoteric and shamanic approaches. www.citytherapy.org Practice Partner www.activehealthgroup.co.uk Co-Owner & Tutor www.sportstherapyorganisation.org.uk Registrar & Co-Owner www.sportstherapyfoundation.info Co-founder
ZENA BOUTAYEB: I have 22 years therapeutic experience practicing Complementary Medicine. I graduated with a BSc (hons) in Complementary Medicine Practice specialising in Traditional Chinese Acupuncture and studied at the Tianjin Hospital in China. I am also trained in Massage, Bodywork, Reflexology and Yoni healings for women. My love for energy work and the Chinese meridian system led me to energy psychology and the effective tapping methods of Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and Inner RePatterning. Inner RePatterning is influenced by EFT, Hypnotherapy, NLP and mindfulness based approaches. The process allows one to simply be PRESENT with what arises without judgement. The results have been so profound and transformative with my clients getting to the root of problems easily and giving way to a more natural state of being. For many years I have worked in the mental health sector and used some of these gentle techniques for people in crisis with incredible results. I run a relaxation group in Didsbury using Chinese system practices and mindfulness. I love having a variety of skills in my toolbox to help empower people to help themselves in enhancing health, balance, joy, vitality, self-acceptance and well-being.
