Open Mic Night at the CCUG!

This is THE show that got the whole thing started! The popularity and success of our open mic has fresh stand up comics crawling out of the woodwork and is attracting nationally famous talent wanting to test new material. We start at 10pm sharp (meaning by like, 10:05) every single Friday, and it's 100% free!Come see why we've been voted "Best Open Mic" by the Minneapolis comedy scene.

The show typically runs 90-100 minutes and features 15-20 local and national performers doing short 3-5 minute sets. The show is frequently PACKED, so get here early to get a table! We do have food and alcohol service in the comedy room, and bottomless bowls of peanuts/popcorn!

If you're interested in performing at the open mic, SWEET! We welcome new comics and try to accommodate everyone brave enough to take the stage. We keep our shows tight, and expect you to respect that. Read the rules when you sign up (on the big whiteboard in the green room) and know we try and be fair making the list, but we get 40-50 comics signing up for 15-20 slots every week.

This means that while you are new, you may not get up EVERY week, but the more you come, the better your chances of earning that coveted stage time. Sign up goes from 830pm - 930pm in the green room, and showing up earlier doesn't make you any more likely to get a spot. Make sure to let us know if it's your first time or if you have people with you. This doesn't mean you'll get time, but it doesn't hurt your chances either.
