Rare and Well Done
Chef John Howie will again host Rare & Well Done, the Ultimate Whisk(e)y Experience on November 5, 2016 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at the Bravern event space adjacent to John Howie Steak. Back by popular demand, this exclusive event will feature more than 150 of the finest and most highly prized whiskies collected from around the world and served with perfectly paired fine bites prepared by John Howie Steak executive chef Mark Hipkiss. Every Rare & Well Done guest will receive a Glencairn keepsake tasting glass and a personal whiskey journal to record notable tastes.
Every guest will be treated to a variety of culinary tastes paired with a selection of extraordinary, hard-to-find whiskies from High West, Hudson, Jack Daniels, Woodford Reserve, Old Forester, Makers Mark, Knob Creek, Stranahans, Eagle Rare, EH Taylor, Elijah Craig, Evan Williams, Hirsch, Orphan Barrel, Jameson, Redbreast, Bushmills, Yellow Spot, Pendleton, Glenrothes, Kavalan, Glenlivet, Westland, Aberlour, Lagavulin, Glenmorangie, Johnnie Walker, Glenfiddich, Balvenie, Highland Park, Macallan, Bowmore, Laphroaig, Hibiki, Toki, Yamzaki and many more. Following are just a few of the featured spirits: Bourbon: Elijah Craig 23 Year, Woodford Reserve Four Wood, Colonel E.H. Taylor Seasoned Wood Single Malt: Kavalan Sherry Cask, Glenmorangie Ealanta, Laphroaig 15 Year, Macallan No. 1, Kininvie 23 Year American Single Malt: Westland Garryana

In addition we are offering a Rare & Well Done VIP Experience Package: The VIP Experience Package includes one-fourth ounce pours of the following whiskies: these whiskies will be available from 5:00-6:30pm Rare & Well Done will offer a very limited number of tickets for the VIP Experience, a private pre-event party from 5:00-6:30 p.m., that will feature ten additional tastes of the most expensive whiskies in the world hand selected by Tim Lodahl, John Howie Steaks Operations/Bar Manager.
Early entry VIP Experience guests will also receive a bottle of John Howie Steak Private Selection Eagle Rare Single Barrel Bourbon, signed by Chef John Howie, and dine on specially prepared pre-event food pairings, such as tempura lobster, seared foie gras, foie gras torchon and A5 Japanese Wagyu.
VIP Experience Package tickets, which includes access to the main event that begins at 6:30 p.m., are available for $500 each. The VIP Experience Package includes one-fourth ounce pours of the following whiskies: Glenfiddich 40 Year Single Malt Scotch Whisky (2015 release): John Howie Steak is the only restaurant in Washington state that has one of the 600 bottles released worldwide ( $5,000/bottle). Balvenie 40 Year Single Malt Scotch Whisky (2012 release): John Howie Steak holds one of only 250 bottles produced, with 50 of those bottles residing in the United States ( $3,500/bottle). Macallan M 1824 Series Single Malt Scotch Whisky (2014 release): M is the pinnacle of the 1824 series. This non age statement is a blend of Single Malt Whiskies, some dating back to 1940 ($3,200/bottle). Glenmorangie Pride 1981 28 Year Single Malt Scotch Whisky (2010 release): This whisky was matured for 18 years in Glenmorangies finest oak cask and an additional 10 years in prized Chateau dYquem casks ($4,500/bottle). Bowmore Port Cask 23 Year (2013 release): Completely aged in Port Casks, this 23 year only yielded 12,000 bottles. ($700/bottle) Johnnie Walker King George V (2007 release): King George V commemorates the granting of the Royal Warrant on 1 January 1934. It uses only the finest whiskies from 1910-1936. ($750/bottle) Pappy Van Winkle 23 Year American Bourbon Whiskey (2015 release): The worlds most highly sought after American Bourbon Whiskey which can only be found on the secondary market ($3,500/bottle). Bookers Rye 13 Year (2016 release): This limited edition rye comes in at 136 proof and will never be produced again ($650/bottle) Parker Heritage 24 Year (2016 release): 2016 marks the tenth bottling in the limited Parker Heritage Series. This will be the first time they have produced a Bottle-In-Bond Bourbon. ($500/bottle) Yamazaki 18 Year (2013 release): Extremely limited bottling from Japans first malt whisky distillery built by Suntorys founder in 1923. ($600/bottle)
