Thrill to the sound of the Anvil Chorus. Imagine the colorful parade of the Toreadors marching through the streets.
Feel the anguish as the Hebrew Slaves long for another sight of their beloved homeland in "Va Pensiero". Composed by Giuseppe Verdi, "Va Pensiero" became the unofficial Italian national anthem. After his death, hundreds of people stood singing it for hours to honor Verdi as they watched his funeral procession go through the streets of Milan.
Remember that Grand Opera was the Broadway of its day. Compare the "Triumphal March from Aida" to the entrance of the animals in Broadway's "The Lion King". Under Maestro John Finney, with full orchestra and professional soloists, Heritage Chorale will perform a wide range of emotions, tempos, rhythms and instrumental colors in these blockbuster choruses.
Parking is free and plentiful. A post-concert reception will provide goodies for all.
