VICTORIAN READINGS PAST & FUTURE
Traditional Turkish Coffee Readings Oct. 29 & 30 6:30pm - 10:30pm 8 sessions per day
Performed by Salma Melchizedek
EXPERIENCE This special tasseographic experience is a benefit to Brother Wolf. 50% ($25.00) of proceeds benefit this wonderful animal organization. Coffee tasseography has many names for simplicity we will refer to it as coffee reading. As is the tradition with the clairvoyant female members of the Melchizedek family, Turkish coffee will be brewed for each person.
IMMERSION To allow for a most authentic experience, Lex 18 will be setting up at one of its private window tables a privacy curtain with thick velvet drapes and middle eastern bedouin tent entrance pieces to create a very Eastern Victorian private space for the guest.
Turkish coffee will be prepared and served in a small turkish coffee cup. The guest (querent) then consumes most of the coffee in the cup leaving the sediments in the cup to settle. The cup is then covered with the saucer and turned upside-down towards themselves. The coffee grounds are given time to dry against the cup before a reading begins. In the Turkish tradition, Salma Melchizedek will interpret the cup as being divided into horizontal halves: symbols appearing on the bottom half are interpreted as messages regarding the past, and symbols on the top half are messages regarding the future. Salma adheres to the belief that the cup is capable of revealing insights about the past, and can predict events beyond forty days into the future. If pertinent she will use the saucer in the reading.
After a reading, the querent will be asked to "open the heart". This is done by placing the right thumb at the inside bottom of the cup and twisting clockwise slightly. This will leave an impression behind that Salma Melchizedek will interpret as the querent's inner thoughts or emotions.
Salma Melchizedek Born in Spain, her ancestry is both Assyrian and Spaniard - an Iberian Peninsula mix which provides a strong empath to her clairvoyant talents. Turkish coffee reading is a very sensitive experience for both the reader and querent so trust and serious intention create the best frame of mind and heart.
