9/11 Reflection Dinner at Barony Tavern after 2nd Sunday on King Street
Barony Tavern is pleased to welcome you to a special dinner with guest speaker Cheryl Irwin, Senior Civilian Press Officer in the Pentagon's Office of the Secretary of Defense, during 9/11 and through 2013. For 15 years, Ms. Irwin advised top Department leadership on public affairs guidance and strategies on all major acquisition programs and managed public affairs for the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics.
Ms. Irwin is a survivor of the September 11 terrorist attack on the Pentagon, where she and her public affairs colleagues continued to inform the media as the building burned and rescue and recovery operations continued around them. She will speak about her experience, answer questions and moderate comments from the audience.
Diners will enjoy a first course of Fried Green Tomatoes, entree choice of Chef Robert Carter's Fried Chicken or Grilled Scottish Salmon, and for dessert Chef Carter's Signature Coconut Cake.
There will be a full cash bar and guests can enjoy the restaurant's extensive wine list.
Tickets are $45 per person plus tax and processing fee for the dinner. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and dinner served at 6:00. Limited seating provides an intimate experience with this important speaker.
Barony Tavern is located 68 Wentworth Street inside the Renaissance Hotel in downtown Charleston. King Street parking will be available when the street reopens at 5:30.
Barony Tavern offers a fresh perspective on fine dining and classic American fare. The restaurant is the brainchild of Robert Carter, who is well known for his work at Rutledge Cab Co. and Peninsula Grill. Barony Tavern is Chef Carters first solo venture and a culmination of his culinary experiences. The collection of American fare features a variety of classic dishes, and Carter artfully connects each to Charleston in some elemental way.
