Queen Christina's Musical Realm, Brooklyn Performance
Repast presents a program of music from the time of Queen Christina of Sweden, one of the 17th Century's greatest intellects and supporters of the arts. Having abdicated her throne in Sweden, she travelled through Europe, eventually settling in Rome, where she created "academies" to further humanist thought, art, and music. Repast's concert includes music from Italy, England, and the Low Countries, reflecting her wide range of tastes. The music of Corelli, Baltzar, Hacquardt, and others is performed on two violins, cello, bassoon and harpsichord. Performers: Amelia Roosevelt & Beth Wenstrom, Baroque Violins Katie Rietman, Baroque Cello Stephanie Corwin, Baroque Bassoon Gabe Shuford, Harpsichord
