LilFest Presents Claudia Nygaard
Claudia Nygaard has long legs that she says hang over both sides of the fence between country and folk, but it's her warm and inviting vocal tone that is the ideal vehicle for delivering the slices of Nygaard's Americana pie. And that voice, pure and unadulterated, is also the perfect medium for Nygaard to tell her stories of love, loss, and sensuality with humor and honesty at the same time. Her sound is acoustic, and while her songs find their roots and rhythms in the Americana storytelling tradition, the melodies are passionate and emotional and the lyrics are vivid and descriptive.
After years of riding the corn dog trail (she has performed at over 150 fairs from coast to coast), success as an artist in Europe, and toiling away in the industry as a staff songwriter at Greenwood Music in Nashville, Let the Storm Roll is Nygaard's debut U.S. release. The album features twelve original songs Which all received airplay with many single-digit's on play lists.
Writing songs about real people and real life, Nygaard's been labeled a female Guy Clark or John Prine, and her songs are indeed worthy of being mentioned in such lofty company.
