Writing Your Artist Statement and Resume
Spark Center
Spokane, WA
Share this event:

October 1, 2016 from 9am-12pm @ SPARK Central

Workshop description:

Artist statements and resumes are hard to write, but they are an important way of explaining who you are as an artist. In this workshop, led by artist and designer Ginelle Hustrulid, you'll look at examples of successful artist statements and resumes from artists of all disciplines and then revise your own. You'll leave with solid drafts of a statement and resume to use when applying for grants and residencies and as part of your website or portfolio.

What to bring:

Please bring in the best draft of your artist statement and your artist resume and be ready to give and receive feedback.

Instructor

She is an Assistant Professor in the Visual Communication Design department at Eastern Washington University, holds a BFA in painting from Pacific Northwest College of Art, Portland OR, and an MFA in video and intermedia art from Mills College, Oakland, CA. Hustrulid has lived and taught in both NYC and San Francisco, she worked as a set designer for Rob Strauss Studios, designed for x-silk clothing, and co-directed Iceberger Gallery.
