The Fernando Holz Band

One of the finest singer/songwriters Brazil has produced, Fernando Holz is in a class with Caetano Veloso, Ivan Lins, Djavan and Jobim. His voice is poignant, playful, caressing and his songs come from the soul.
Holz has recorded with Paulo Braga ( Jobims drummer of 20 years) and Romero Lubambo ( One of the most sought after Brazilian guitarists in America and Brazil) on his CD Minhalma Nua (My Nude Soul, 2004), as well as the legendary Brazilian singer Leny Andrade in 1996.
He has also played with Alfredo Cardim ( Astrud Gilbertos pianist who currently plays with Paulo Jobim and Jaques Morelembaums group in Brasil), guitarist Rubens de La Corte (formerly Angelique Kidjos music director, currently playing with Eliane Elias quintet), Marivaldo Santos( Eliane Elias percussionist), the great Joe Hunt, (Stan Getzs and Joao Gilbertos drummer). While touring Brazil in 2008 he played with the bassist Bira and the pianist Osmar Barutti, both from the Sexteto do Jô Soares the band on the Brazilian version of the David Letterman show.
