Angels in America, Part Two: Perestroika
The MFA Acting Class of 2017 proudly presents Angels in America, Part Two: Perestroika. Set in New York City in the mid-1980s, the story follows several diverse characters as they navigate the oncoming AIDS epidemic. The ravaging effects of the epidemic not only on physical bodies but also on spiritual, political and ethical bodies explode into an epic piece of theater that speaks volumes to our current national moment.
Perestroika continues our collectives desire to produce powerful and compelling work beyond the traditional UCSD Theatre and Dance season. Though our collective has grown to include artists from several different departments in the humanities division, Perestroika is still proudly a studio project: student-devised, student-generated, and infused with our communal need to connect our artistry with innovation and purpose.
