Homewood Museum of Johns Hopkins University presents the 16th anniversary season of its Baltimore's Great Architecture lecture series, organized as part of AIABaltimore's Baltimore Architecture Month.
In conjunction with its special exhibition "A Winter's Residence: Charles Carroll of Homewood's Town Houses, 1800-1816," Homewood Museum presents its 16th anniversary season of lectures, exploring the rhythm and pattern of life in the seasonal move between town and country in booming, bustling,early nineteenth-century Baltimore.
Presentations by art historian Dr. Lance Humphries (Oct. 10: "A 'House in Town': Charles Carroll of Homewood's Residences in Baltimore City"); historian and professor Dr. Bernard L. Herman (Oct. 17: "Town House Terroir: The Flavor of Place in Baltimore's Vernacular Buildings"), and city preservation planner Eric Holcomb (Oct. 24: "From Country Estate to Suburban Neighborhood: Development on the Edge of Baltimore, 18001945").
