Set in Guyana, THE SEAWALL, is the story of an older Guyanese woman, Marjorie, and her grandson Malachi, who share a very special bond. After receiving a visa to live in the United States with his Mom whom he hadn't seen since he was a baby, 10-year old Malachi wrestles with leaving his Grandma and best friend behind, while thinking about a new life in America. Marjorie struggles to convince her grandson that life in America would be better, as she deals with her own feelings of loneliness and abandonment, in a country that she loves. A Cannes 2011 selection.
