Mitchell Opera House Concert Series

This year, the Mitchell Opera House and Southern Indiana LIVE on Stage have teamed up to  provide four special shows along with the Opera Houses first ever concert series. Because of the generosity of local sponsors, season ticket holders will be able to enjoy all eight of these concerts for an incredible price of $50.

The Mitchell Opera House season will start off with Paul Bogart on October 1, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. Paul Bogart is a Nashville recording artist that plays upwards of 90 dates a year and writes with some of Nashvilles biggest names in country music. Though his songs are fresh and he is young, he is an old soul with a knack for capturing time-honored traditions and summing up classic sentiments in catchy, three-minute country songs.

The second show of the Mitchell Opera House season will be Blair Carman on December 3, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. Blair has been singing and performing since the age of 12. He is a master interpreter of song and brings a freshness and sincerity that most music of today has lacked for some time. Blair performs authentic 1950s style Honky Tonk - Rockabilly - Boogie Woogie - Piano Pumpin' - Rock & Roll in the style of artists such as Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis Presley, & Hank Williams.

The third show of the season will include a very special artist by the name of Victoria Banks that is moving her way up in country music. She will perform on March 4, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. Victorias list of accolades as an artist is long.  Her self-produced, self-penned records When You Can Fly and Never Be the Same made her 2009s most nominated female artist in Canadian Country Music, earned her the 2010 CCMA Female Artist of the Year award, and sent her out on tour with superstars Reba McEntire, Wynonna Judd, Lonestar, Randy Travis and Johnny Reid. But songwriting is her first love. Victorias impressive catalogue of hits includes three cuts by Sara Evans including Cant Stop Loving You (a duet with Isaac Slade of The Fray), and the ASCAP and SOCAN-award-winning Saints & Angels. She penned Jessica Simpsons Billboard record-breaking country debut Come On Over, X Factor winner Tate Stevens Ordinary Angels, One More Girls breakout hit When It Aint Raining, and Johnny Reids smash Dance With Me, for which Victoria was named 2010 CCMA Songwriter of the Year.

The final show of the season will be Hank and My Honky Tonk heroes, a Hank Williams Tribute group that will perform on April 8, 2017. Hank Williams is known all over the world as the most influential singer/songwriter ever. Now, acclaimed performer/musician Jason Petty is bringing the authentic and insightful story of Hank Williams Sr. to life in Hank and My Honky Tonk Heroes. Jason has blown audiences away with his performance, which has earned him rave reviews from the nations biggest critics including Rolling Stone, the New York Times, and has also won him an Obie Award for Outstanding Actor. The show gives audiences a personal look at Williams growing up, how he became famous, who influenced the legendary singer/songwriter and performers today who are influenced by Williams. Join us in paying tribute to one of country musics greatest artists of all time in this one-of-a-kind performance!

If you purchase one of the season passes to the awesome list of performances above, you will also be able to use it for the 4 shows in the Soutern Indiana LIVE on Stage series. The series includes country singer Mark Collie on September 17th, Illusionist Adam Trent on October 15th, Indiana Universitys Rising Stars on January 28th, and American Idol finalist Melinda Doolittle on March 25th.
