SATURDAY NIGHT LIV
John Davidson, star of stage and TV, and Lenox resident, brings his singer/songwriter side to Saturday Night Liv (hosted by Liv Cummins) at the Spectrum Playhouse, in Lee, on Founders Day weekend, Sept. 16 & 17. SNLiv is a long-running, live variety show that combines elements of SNL and the classic variety shows like Carol Burnett and Ed Sullivan. Also performing are Magician Carl Seiger, a Tyringham resident, comic Danny Bloom, and sketch comedy troupe The Really Convincing Players: Sarah Mitchell, Andrew Joffe, Tony Carrano, Lora Lee Ecobelli and Katelyn Pekrul.
Davidson is well known to TV viewers as the host of Thats Incredible, Hollywood Squares, and his own talk shows, as well as many appearances as host of The Tonight Show, filling in for Johnny Carson. He is a Broadway star, and is seen in Las Vegas regularly. He now writes and performs his own original songs, and will do so at the Lee shows.
Seiger regularly plays sold out shows in the Berkshires and in Florida. His slight-of-hand legerdemain is baffling and amazing to watch. Hes often asked, after performances, How did you do that?, though he never answers that question. See if you can figure it out.
Cummins is a local comedic actress, playwright and songwriter, who has been hosting SNLiv for 15 years. She and head writer Sandy McKnight produce the show for Columbia Arts Team, a not-for-profit arts company, with proceeds going to helping showcase local performers.
