Good People by David Lindsay-Abaire and directed by Delia MacDougall
This timeless play from Pulitzer Prize Winner David Lindsay-Abaire will have you laughing continuously and then silently nodding your head, with a smile, at its rueful conclusion.
It is a play of extremely well-written dialogue and characterization set in South Boston. Five of the characters have all grown up together in the same South Boston neighborhood. They constantly refer to past events and people from the neighborhood they remember and who is, or isn't "good people". In this world the play so adeptly creates for us, we see that very few can afford to be as good as they think they are.
