Alternate Routes w/s/g Stephen Kellogg
The Alternate Routes & Stephen Kellogg come together for a special sunday evening Fundraiser at The Acoustic in Bridgeport
Taken solely at their word, The Alternate Routes have always attempted to stretch the boundaries and redefine the borders of rock music from pop rock to folk and country rock. This alone has made them difficult to the describe, and hard to forget. In a world where the longest lines lead to the middle of the road, The Alternate Routes have taken their chances on the idea that being diverse is the only way to win the long game. Its the only way to ensure that when the world decides to take note, that you will indeed have something to say. Millions of streams later, Nothing More has made good on that promise. The only way to ensure that your perspective is dense and informed is to always keep looking, and to always continue searching. Four albums into their career, The Alternate Routes continue, and even when the road is blocked, they find a way.
Stephen Kellogg
My music has been described as Americana, Country-Rock, Folk, Singer/Songwriter, and, somehow, pop. I have always thought of it as American-rock n roll. Its a product of my fathers record collection, from Jim Croce and Cat Stevens to Eagles and The Band. Somewhere along the way, I fell in love with showmanship and acts that put on great concerts. Sometimes that meant Van Halen, other times it meant the Grateful Dead, and most recently its probably more to do with John Prine. For what its worth, Tom Petty is my favorite artist. Although its been pointed out to me by one quite popular publication that Im no Bruce Springsteen, Ive decided to continue making music anyway (Im laughing as I write this in case thats not clear).
