Science in your Schoolyard! It's a Natural Fit! (NGSS Connections)
Teaching Science on your Schoolyard! It's a Natural Fit!
Learning in nature is fun for teachers and students alike! Together we will learn how you can use your schoolyard to engage your students in NGSS based science lessons.
Judie Lincer, MS Ed, Educator and Naturalist Guide will model how you can easily take your students outdoors and do hands-on, engaging and memorable science lessons that are both NGSS and Common Core oriented. You will get to see some readily available (and inexpensive/free) tools of the trade that are simple to make and use with students, some interesting collections like skulls, nests, scat, and much more.
Sign up soon. Space is limited on this workshop so that you will have up close and personal experiences and interactions with the instructor.
Workshop will be held at the R.H. Fleet Science Center. Please enter through the Business Entrance on the south side, the side closest to the parking lot. We will spend half of the time outdoors, so dress for the weather!
Address: 1875 El Prado Balboa Park San Diego, CA 92101 (619) 238-1233
All educators are welcome. We look forward to working with you!
