A portrait of the people and culture of Israel through food, In Search of Israeli Cuisine follows chefs, home cooks, farmers, vintners, and cheese makers, drawn from the more than 100 cultures that make up Israel today Jewish, Arab, Muslim, Christian, and Druze to tell a rich, complex, and human story. Through interviews and visits to farms, markets, restaurants, and kitchens, chef and narrator Michael Solomonov introduces audiences to this multi-cultural cuisine. The James Beard award winning chef and owner of Zahav in Philadelphia, and writer of the bestselling cookbook by the same name, Solomonov enters peoples lives and their kitchens, and discusses their roots, inspirations, what their grandmothers cooked, and how theyre preserving traditions and updating recipes with global influences.
