Science & Society: Biology & Ethics (Connections to NGSS)
This hands-on workshop will introduce middle and high school teachers to an interactive curriculum designed to teach the history of eugenics in the U.S. and how this unfortunate and widely unknown chapter in our country's past is relevant to modern technologies like genetic testing and CRISPR. The eugenics curriculum is appropriate for a Biology, Ethics or Science and Society class and is designed to reinforce basic scientific concepts while engendering important discussion and debate. Participants will be given access to all the materials necessary to bring the lessons to their own classrooms with minimal prep time required.
Workshop will be held at the R.H. Fleet Science Center. Community Forum Space (please enter through the Business Entrance)
Address: 1875 El Prado Balboa Park San Diego, CA 92101 (619) 238-1233
