On the Lawn of the Southampton Arts Center
Please join us for an exciting public demonstration of drawing and painting a portrait from life. Florentine-Trained artist Megan Euell, back from Italy and now in her hometown of Southampton, will spend 3 hours building stages of creating a Portrait from life.
Learn how students study the use of edges, the concept of larger-to-smaller relationships, planar thinking, anatomical landmarks, the principles of light on form and paint handling to attain the likeness of their subject. Portraiture has long been and continues to be an important practice in art, and helps us understand the visual principles the visual world around us is based upon.
Outdoors. Chairs, sketchbooks and pencils will be provided. Space is limited. Advance reservations required.
