RED/PURPLE: Ensemble Vermillian with Les Violettes
Our February 10 concert will demonstrate what happens when you mix vermillian and violet (red & purple): an amazing musical bouquet ensues! Frances Blaker-recorders, David Wilson-violin & Barbara Blaker Krumdieck-cello collaborate with Corey Carelton-soprano, Colin Shipman-viola da gamba and Violet Grgich-harpsichord to bring a program filled with choice delicacies from the French, German and Italian baroque, including music by Lambert, Couperin, Bononcini, Buxtehude and Bach.
Both Ensemble Vermillian and Les Violettes have been active on the Bay Area scene for many years, and the combination of groups opens the way to some very unusual and exciting repertoire.
All in the fabulous wooden acoustic of St. Marks Parish Hall. There will, of course, be snax.
