Drunk Queer History At Sisyphus Brewing
Queering and subverting the television hit "Drunk History," Gadfly produces this semi-quarterly event to raise funds for current projects and to keep the roof on their new indoor PlayGround, the Fox Egg Gallery. This quarter's proceeds will go to our fall event, "She Kills Monsters" as well as helping cut costs to low-income users of The Fox Egg Gallery while it's under Gadfly's management.
The show works like this: Our drunken queer storyteller Javier Morillo-Alicea will either choose stories or get a brief crash course from Gadfly on major moments in queer history prior to the event on the 11th. Then he will drunkenly recall these crucial moments for our community. Then our queer improv artists, Ally Rae and Jay Simmons, will do an improv scene (that may or may not be related to the story at hand but will certainly be queer af and entertaining as hell) based only on Javier's telling of it, NOT anything they may or may not know about the event.
Sisyphus Brewing has generously donated their event space, and Gadfly could not be more excited to be in the space and sipping such stellar beer ;)
