Helm: Classical/ Folkloric Music & Dance from Turkey and the Arab World
OCA continues to be the place to enjoy the uniquely wonderful music of many world cultures! HELM, based in Marin County, features accomplished musicians Ling Shien on Arabic woodwinds, accordion and vocals with Mark Bell and David Two Hawk on percussion; with Larry Klein, David Glazier and Pat Bogel on oud, qanun, and violin. Playing original compositions that have become classics in the worlds of Tribal and Belly dance, as well as traditional music from Turkey and the Arab world, HELM has toured internationally and provided sound tracks for film and television and produced 8 plus albums.They also play frequently at Redwood Café for Open Belly on the first Monday of every month. www.helmmusic.com.
Joining the multi-instrumental troupe will be dynamic dancers Kendra Chatfield (Tribal, Fusion, Oriental Bellydance plus modern hoop dance) and Lily Goessling. Only $15!
