I Am Big Bird -The Caroll Spinney Story
Join the Velaslavasay Panorama Enthusiast Society and DJ Lance Rock (Yo Gabba Gabba!) for a special screening of this touching documentary about the life and work of Caroll Spinney, who has been Sesame Street's Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch since 1969. I Am Big Bird features incredible footage of Spinney's earliest collaborations with Jim Henson and traces Caroll's journey in giving life some of the most beloved characters on earth for children and adults alike.
The film will be preceded by an introduction with DJ Lance Rock who is well known for his own contributions to childrens' (and adults) imagination and confidence through the characters, songs and hi-jinx of Yo Gabba Gabba! (http://www.yogabbagabba.tv/)
This screening is part of a series leading up to the Los Angeles International Neon Jubilee - a street festival to celebrate the relighting of the historic neon marquee of the Union Theatre- home of the Velaslavasay Panorama since 2005 - on September 10th, 2016.
