Dads Experience Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders Too!
This training is offered by Perinatal Support Washington, a state-wide non-profit dedicated to lifting the veil on perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.
Join us for a presentation and discussion about one dads story that began with the traumatic birth of his child and the mental health experiences that followed for both himself and wife. Mark will share his story, his work and discussions with other men who have experienced paternal mood disorders, and what UK is doing to support new dads. Wendy Davis, PhD, Executive Director of Postpartum Support International will present on national efforts in the US to support dads. Mia Edidin, LICSW, Director of Perinatal Support WA will discuss effort in WA state and resources for dads locally.

About the Mark Williams Mark is the International Fathers Mental Health Day Founder and a dads mental health advocate in the UK. He travels and talks about his familys experience following the traumatic birth of their child. Mark and his wife both suffered perinatal mood anxiety disorders. Mark experienced panic attacks and postnatal depression and experienced the difficulty of trying to support his wife Michelle who suffered severe postnatal depression while being unwell himself. He now speaks to others about postpartum mental health and new dads and feels that by sharing his story he creating greater awareness about dads experiences.
