quiet Presents "A Time for Butterflies"
Join quiet for the World Premiere of A Time for Butterflies - a new work from quiet's Artistic Director Josh Hornbeck.
When everyone is promised the "American Dream," a fantasy few are ever able to achieve, what will you do to take care of the ones you love?
Alex Sanchez brought his family to America because of his belief in the American Dream. But after twenty years of menial work and seeing their bills continually grow, Alex is beginning to lose faith. As he struggles to support his family, his encounters with a local drug dealer, a racist police officer, and the characters from a children's story set into motion events which will challenge the very foundation of Alex's beliefs.
A Time for Butterflies is a gripping and poignant story of the displaced, disillusioned, and disenfranchised and their search for a better life.
Discussions with local social service organizations, including Casa Latina, will follow each performance.
