Ties to the Land
This two-part program explores succession planning the human side of estate planning which focuses on ways to maintain family ties to the land from generation to generation, building awareness of key challenges facing families who own forest and farmland, and motivating families to address those challenges.
Ties to the Land is an award-winning curriculum developed by leading estate planning experts at Oregon State University Extension and the Austin Family Business Program. Originally developed with forest owners in mind, this program is applicable to all family-owned, land-based businesses, whether forest, farm, or ranch.
The curriculum features DVD-based presentations coupled with classroom exercises facilitated by WSU Extension staff. Part 2 of this workshop will feature a discussion panel with three local attorneys experienced with estate planning
