NOTE: This venue is 21+
After a successful run at the Providence Fringe Festival, Strange News brings "db" to The Davis Square Theatre.
"db" is a comedy about the disappearance of air pirate D.B. Cooper, one of the great unsolved mysteries of the 20th century. After hijacking a plane, extorting $200,000 from the airline, and parachuting into the wild "Dark Divide" of the Pacific Northwest, Cooper vanished. In the wake of the crime, he was largely seen sympathetically, mythologized as a kind of latter-day American Robin Hood--stealing from the rich to give to himself. But if D.B. Cooper is Robin Hood, he's also Schrodinger's Cat: never found or identified, and so neither alive nor dead, existing in the limbo of public imagination. "db" is set in that limbo, a series of surreal vignettes in which time and identity bends as the cast embodies Cooper and the people affected by his jump.
50 min. db is a production of Strange News: Davis Alianiello, Emily Baldasarra, Victoria Brancazio, Evan Eckstrom, Dharmik Patel, Evelyn Quinn, Sam Taber, Lelaina Vogel, and Ellen Zahniser.
