Lisa Moncure has opened her doors to the creative process for the 16th event in the homeLA series. In response to this hillside home, artists across dance, music, experimental theater and performance art disciplines develop works that continue to examine what it means to engage with both the intimate, interior spaces of Los Angeles and the people who inhabit them.
Joy Anderson, Jay Carlon, Micki Davis, Milka Djordjevich, Dorothy Dubrule, Andrew Mandinach, Lisa Moncure, Zoe Aja Moore, Elyse Reardon-Jung, Darrian O'Reilly, Paul Pescador, Matt Savitsky, and Alyson Van will be presenting new works - join us for an evening of exploration and whimsy throughout Lisa's home.
homeLA is dance in private space open to the public since 2013. The project connects hosts with artists and provides a platform for independent dance, body-based, sound, and interactive media artists at various stages of their careers to create in response to the architecture and ethos of Los Angeles homes. During one to three month rehearsal periods in which the artists work collectively and consider some of the project's central questions:
how do we share space? how do we live differently in Los Angeles? what happens when we value creative process?
homeLA invites a mobile audience to private homes throughout the city to experience intimate live performance.
guest curator: Samara Kaplan media and documentation manager: Andrew Mandinach producer: Margot Moss homeLA founder and director: Rebecca Bruno
