Subsequent productions became more diverse by including dancers from other disciplines and styles such as African, Flamenco, East Indian, Japanese, jazz, tap, ballet and Broadway. Over the past 18 years it has been presented in New York City at Lincoln Center, Dance Theatre Workshop, Danspace Project and the Kaye Playhouse; as well as in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, Minneapolis, Miami, Honolulu, Washington DC, Toronto and at Jacob's Pillow and the American Dance Festival. The piece generally has 25 performers of all ages, each telling a personal story from their life and creating/improvising their own movement. Every production is cast or curated to showcase or feature a specific group of performers/dancers no two performances are ever the same. Each "chapter" of this piece is a unique and special "one time only" theatrical event. To date over 1,000 dancers from ages 13 to 94 have performed in From the Horses Mouth including dance legends Mary Anthony, Brenda Bufalino, Grover Dale, Gemze de Lappe, Jacques dAmboise, David Dorfman, John Jaspers, Carol Lawrence, Yvonne Rainer, Xiomara Reyes, Gus Solomons jr, Jock Soto and Martine Van Hamel.
PASS is a curated performance series that takes place on the last Saturday of every month at Snug Harbor. The salons focus is on original works in performing arts (music, dance, theater, and multimedia) in different stages of development. When possible, work is developed in residence at Snug Harbor, which serves as an incubation lab. Each PASS has a pre-performance reception and a post-performance artist talk moderated by an expert in the field.
PASS is curated by Gabri Christa.
