In bad woods, choreographer/director Melissa West explores the liminal emotive space that resides in the woods. Three dancers build on a soundscape that delves into dualities of light and dark, the night, the mysteries and enigmatic states of wildness that exist within the feminine; the constructs and unraveling of performativity.
PASS is a curated performance series that takes place on the last Saturday of every month at Snug Harbor. The salons focus is on original works in performing arts (music, dance, theater, and multimedia) in different stages of development. When possible, work is developed in residence at Snug Harbor, which serves as an incubation lab. Each PASS has a pre-performance reception and a post-performance artist talk moderated by an expert in the field.
