Queens Greenmarket Bike Tour
Summer is here and the farmers' markets are open for the season. All this means that now is the best time to EAT! Work up an appetite as we bike the Sunday Queens Greenmarkets and eat Summer's bounty. The tour begins at the Jackson Heights Greenmarket where we'll have coffee and a light breakfast while talking to the Western Queens Composting Initiative folks about their project. Next we'll ride to the brand new Forest Hills Greenmarket where we'll learn about GrowNYC's New Farmer Development Project. We'll end our insider's tour at the Douglaston Greenmarket we're we'll eat some lunch and, for those interested, take a cool dip in Douglaston Bay.
Transportation Alternatives Queens Volunteer Committee will be leading the tour and providing free bike lights for the first 25 bikers registered.
Helmets are required!
