Rhythm Addicts Dance Party along with Naby Bangoura
Free style dance with or without a partner to the Rhythm Addicts, a 6 member band that play a unique fusion of West African rhythms and melodies with American and European songs and musical sensibilities. The three percussionists who form the rhythmic core of the group; Gabriel Harris, Ben Isaacs, and Wade Peterson, have been studying, performing, and teaching traditional music from Guinea, Mali, and Senegal together and individually for over 20 years. They are joined by renowned guitarist Tom Finch (Big Brother and the Holding Company), bassist Anna Pfeifer (Dirty Cello), and multi-instrumentalist Charles Moselle. Together they deliver powerful grooves that call the audience to the dance floor, and haunting melodies that touch the heart and soul.
There will be wine and beer for sell.
NABY BANGOURA will be leading a dance class from 7-8:15
Naby Bangoura is a native of Guinea, West Africa, has performed with Les Ballets Merveilles, teaches San Franciscos prestigious ODC dance studio as well as other reputable dance studios throughout the US. Nabys dynamic skills and soaring spirit have established his dance class as a high energy and joyful experience
