Medea
Medea is a wife and a mother who has been betrayed. Her husband, Jason has left her for a younger Greek woman. Now Medea faces not only banishment but also being separated from her two sons, Mermeros & Pheres. Medea is not a woman who can accept such an insult however. Her pride will not allow it. So she turns all of her dark energies into wreaking the most horrific and terrible revenge possible against the man she loved more than life itself.
Euripides' ancient tragedy is still shockingly modern as it sharply probes the psychology of its characters while exploring themes such as racism, sexism, family & fate. Please join the Onomatopoeia Theatre Company as we examine what makes this show still resonate in our modern times.
