"Share the Fantasy" marie-claire and her boys
marie-claire sings golden age jazz with a twist of opera.
Bringing back a time of opulence and elegance expressed through the music and lyrics of the great american songbook, arias from popular operas and elements of today's popular, making it a sound all her own.
- Born on the island of Dominica in the Caribbean, raised in The Bronx, NYC and trained classically to sing opera by Maestro Guido Caputo and Maestro Frascati at the Conservatory of Santa Cecelia in Rome, Italy. Further training includes two years under Marc Forrest in Los Angeles and exclusive study under Raymond Buckingham in New York City. It was Buckingham who recognized the rich and deep vocal timbre of her voice, discovering she is a rare operatic contralto. This discovery, in tandem with her extensive vocal training, led to her debut at Carnegie Hall with the New York Grand Opera Company in the role of Maddalena from Verdis Rigoletto.
marie-clarie combines the best of the old and new. A recipient of the NAACP Image Award in 2014, marie-claire sings songs from the great American songbook, opera classics as well as fusing it all with modern elements of today's music making it a sound all her own. Her recent performances include singing the national anthem at the Barclays Center for the Brooklyn Nets and New York Islanders, singing on Good Day New York (as well as being interviewed) and at The United Nations.
